RickLatona.com says No More AEIOU.com

Of all people to call it quits, RickLatona.com says goodbye to mini-sites and to AEIOU.com. There will be no more mini-site creation from this point forward except for those who already have product orders submitted. All of those who have web sites hosted at AEIOU.com will have 90 days to relocate their sites.

In a blog post at RickLatona.com, Latona says there’s no money in web design. “It’s hard. The customers are hard to please. The margins are slim and frankly, there are bigger fish to fry”, wrote Latona.

RickLatona.com is widely known for the very popular Domain Name Auction and Brokerage Service which has hosted a multitude of quality products since it’s inception. But now, it is time to wrap up on the developmental stage of things and progress with the domaining side, which has proven to be very successful and requires plenty of attention.

Whatever Rick decides to do, we all know it will be successful and we would like to wish him all the best with his future endeavors.

The $16 Million Dollar Domain Insure.com

$16 Million for a domain name, Wow! That’s right, Insure.com has just recently been purchased for the enormous amount of $16,000,000.00 USD. The last time that the domain name was sold was back in 2001, where it brought in a figure of $1.6 Million.

The proud new owner(s) QuinStreet (a well known marketing firm) has made the purchase of the NASDAQ publicly traded domain and all associated domain names with. So now what? Well the name acquisition is only the first step in the re-branding process where the new name of the company is said to be “Life Quotes”.

For those of you who do not remember QuinStreet, you may recall the last August domain name sale of Internet.com and all assets which fetched a whopping $18 Million dollars. QuinStreet is the same buyer.

BANS BuildANicheStore.com goes up for Auction at Flippa.

This comes as a big surprise to me and I am sure too many who have purchased this versatile software script used to make niche sites for eBay affiliates. I purchased the script a couple of years ago and I put up a couple of websites myself. I got side tracked like normal and set the script aside with HUGE future plans…lol! Anyways, this could be the sale of the decade for the right person(s), considering all that is included in this deal. There is so much involved here with the BuildANicheStore.com empire, I will just copy a piece of the auction details below and you can follow to the bidding destination.

Description:
Over the past few years we’ve built up and collected quite a bit of value in the “niche site building” / “affiliate marketing” markets and after 3 years of involvement we’ve decided it’s time to package this value up and let someone else take it over, develop it and profit from it.

The package includes 2 developed digital products and a network development opportunity in the niche site building / affiliate marketing industry along with some other interesting extras.

Everything listed below is included in the sale.

In summary this includes:

1. 2 developed digital products (www.BuildANicheStore.com and www.N1WAY.com) which have a combined income of $49,487.17 over the last 3 months and a total 3 year income of $545,372.80 (sales) plus £65,906.48 (hosting affiliate revenue) – further details and revenue breakdowns follow. 27 directly related domains are also included.

2. The domain name www.Make3To5GrandAMonth.com and how to use it.

3. An immediate plan and supporting domains for incorporation of BANS and N1WAY into a larger network (NicheSiteBuildingNetwork.com) and the simple expansion of that network through the use of NicheSiteBuilding.com.

4. A further 18 domains and purchase concepts directly related to the development and expansion of the NicheSiteBuildingNetwork.com.

5. A further 23 domains and purchase concepts directly related to the wider internet marketing niche.

6. A final batch of 13 “niche site” domains which we do not intend to develop.

7. 2 developed niche affiliate sites used as examples in both BANS and N1WAY which have a combined monthly income of around $500 through the eBay partner network affiliate program.

No Reserve Auction at Live Domain Auctioneers

Live Domain Auctioneers is at it again. Their next live domain name auction is on October 25th, 2009 starting at 03:00 PM PST and they are allowing domain submissions for consideration up until October 9th, 2009.

Here is a simple Domain Name Submission Form. If your domain is selected for entry into the Live Domain Auctioneers you will be notified via email.

Currently the only domain name extensions that are being accepted at this time are .com, .net and .org.

Live Domain Auctioneers do have a 10% commission on all sales but that isn’t uncommon in these domain marketplaces. On a positive side of things, this auction platform will be held with “No Reserves”. That means you have a chance of grabbing some valuable names for less than their reg fees.

Don’t miss this event like I missed the last one. Many of the domains that went at the last auction on September 27th sold for only one dollar. Most of those would have made great additions to anyone’s domain name portfolio.

Source Code Injection or Page Hijacking?

Have you heard of Source Code Injection or Page Hijacking? Here is something interesting. I created an affiliate site about a month ago and at the very start of it’s inception it began making sales, almost instantly. This continues for the first 2 weeks of the site’s life and I was averaging  1 sale a day. I thought that this was pretty amazing. What I think is even more amazing though is, how for the past 2 weeks the sales have halted completely. I haven’t made any revenue for the past 2 weeks from a site that was off to an incredible start. This has me puzzled because I have read something, somewhere, about how a source code can be injected and how your page could even get hijacked. Your affiliate links can also be stolen somehow but I am not sure how all of this works though. I could use some advice or suggestions on how to check my website for any type of Source Code Injection or Page Hijacking tampering. This just seems strange to me. What do you recommend?
